Latter-day Saints Continue Long Tradition of Gathering for General Conference
October 5th, 2008 by ProvoBoy | No Comments | Filed in LDS, UtahBeing raised a member of the LDS faith, I’ve always enjoyed the two times of the year when it’s LDS General Conference. This is a time where the members of the LDS Church attend (or tune in via TV, radio, or internet) and listen to those who have been asked to speak on various topics in regards to our beliefs.
As a kid I liked it because we didn’t have to dress up and go to church, we just sat in our pj’s and watched it on KSL, a local Salt Lake City, Utah TV and radio station. It was also a weekend when my mother was always gone. For almost as long as I can remember she’s been part of the team that provides a translation of the proceedings into her native language of Navajo.
As an adult I’ve grown to value this time to connect with my beliefs and to ponder how life is going for me, where I’ve been and where I’m headed. Good times
