Alright, so a friend informed me yesterday on Facebook that she saw my picture on Fox13’s Good Day Utah.  So I’m just barely wondering over to their site and lo and behold the video clip is posted online.

Personally I’m rooting for Kerri Cronk because I think she’s been here the longest.

Enjoy…

Amie Jane Leavitt fell into a writing career by accident.

While working as a schoolteacher, Leavitt and her coworkers discussed what their dream jobs would be.

“I wanted to write and tell people about places I have been or places around here,” said the Payson resident. “Then, two weeks later, I went [online to] AOL, and there was an ad that said, ‘Do you want to be a freelance writer?’”

She applied, and the Internet giant hired her to write travel articles.

Since then, she has written magazine articles and 37 children’s books. Her books include biographies of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and ‘tween pop star Miley Cyrus; a children’s “translation” of the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights. She also has written gardening books geared to kids and took photographs to illustrate them.

The hardest book she’s written to date: A choose-your-adventure story about the siege of the Alamo.

It took Leavitt six months and four rewrites.  She had to research the 1836 battle from both the Texas and Mexican sides.

That work paid off when she got a request from a boy who was doing a book report about her book and her.

While Leavitt enjoys writing children’s books, she plans to expand into blogging and try her hand at writing her own stories.

If it seems like Twitter is growing faster and faster each day, that is because it is. ComScore has released its March numbers for the U.S., and it estimates that unique visitors to Twitter.com grew 131 percent between February and March to 9.3 million visitors. No wonder Twitter is more popular than Britney.

Seriously, so Funny!!!

October 3rd, 2008 by ProvoBoy | No Comments | Filed in Blogging, Humor, LDS, Utah

For those of you that are familiar with local Utah/LDS culture the “Seriously, so blessed!” blog cracks me up. Sometimes I have a hard time containing myself as I read about the “way awesome” life of Tiffany/Amber/Megan/Nicole. I don’t know if it’s more funny or sad that I know women like this.

My favorite blog post this week: right PERSON, right place, right time

Yay for weddings, boo for boring.

Yesterday we had Sunday dinner at JJWT’s fam’s which was WAY fun and tasty (splurged and had TWO BITES of desert, bad I know, blame the feti) and got the seriously big news…JJWT’s bro is FINALLY engaged!!!

He and Ruth have been dating like a YEAR so we’d basicly all given up hope. So, wedding = YAY! But honestly, I just don’t GET her. Hate to judge slash be a downer, but she’s going to be apart of our fam, and not that many people read this blog anyway, and it IS my journal, and I DO need help so I’m gonna share…bless her heart, not to judge, I’m worried. HELP!!
